I'm trading my baby in today for my next baby, a 2011 335is convertible w/ DCT. I'll be sure to post that when I get it but I would be remiss to not send off my 2007 335i coupe with a post from the heart.
You took me on road trips to Washington D.C., New York City, Toronto Canada, Plymouth Rock, and many more short-medium length trips for work and pleasure without much of a complaint except for maybe a quart of oil here and there. I drove you across the country to Seattle and back and it was one of the best driving experiences of my life. You've been a reliable and fun car and even though you only really got me laid once, I won't fault you for it.
I'll miss you buddy and even though I'm ditching you for a less-abused and nicer model, I hope whoever buys you off the lot enjoys your twin-turbo RWD dynamics just as much as I did. It's been a great 5 years.

My first BMW was a 2007 E92 335i 6MT - black sapphire metallic with saddle brown interior. I loved it, and it got me started down this slippery damn slope of all things track related. The 07 335 is a bit of a gateway drug in that respect. I see you're sticking with the turbo but in the form of a newer vert flappy paddle. Maybe you're not on the road to ruin like I am. My E90 M3 has been better to me than I could ever have hoped, but I still remember the 335 fondly, despite it being in the shop on a near-constant basis for the first two years I owned it. I wonder where it is now. I like to think it is well loved, freshly washed and headed out for a morning back roads drive, or at least showing up for some socialization at cars and coffee, its BMW performance exhaust popping and snarling in satisfaction.

This 335is is, what I expect to be, my in-between car till I am making good enough money to afford an M3 both in monthly payment and maintenance/fuel costs. I would have preferred a coupe 335is but in southwestern PA the 335is model is hard to find.

MY FIRST BMW WAS AN AUDI.
Hurhurhur, I almost bought a E46 3-Series coupe when I bought my first A4. Backed off due to sketchy title.

Congrats! Today is the day of happenings! I get my 2011 E92 today as well. I don't want to jinx it though cause I was supposed to get it yesterday.

In southeastern PA I see them all the time! You shoulda road tripped for one. Heck, I drove to Virginia to pick up my M, it was awesome!
True story ahead, but YMMV: I have owned my M for 15 months and it now has 8 track days on it, and 10,500 miles since purchase. No warranty. Hasn't cost me a single cent other than an oil change (and the thousands upon thousands I've spent in track-related items). The E9X M3 was actually the single most reliable car in the BMW fleet at the time it was produced. Makes me love it even more. You're right about fuel costs though - not a concern for me really bc my commute to work is 3.8mi each way. I'm lucky in that regard.

Aww man, you missed out on E46 ownership. There's nothing at all wrong with the A4, but the E46 is an absolute delight.

The 335is a bewitching car, I fully endorse the decision (although rare 6MT owner here).
Good choice on the E9X as well, I've driven so many F3X vehicles and been disappointed with literally every single one of them. I thought I was going nuts comparing them, but then I test drove a possible a daily (328i E90) and it was obvious.... The F3X was a fantastic car for getting me there, the E9X was the amazing car where I just kept driving to drive after I'd gotten there (like the E-chassis' before it).
So sad how BMW has lost their way, and most shocking of all how CADILLAC appears to be picking up the slack.
